Meet the experts

What types of disabilities and mental health challenges does Candia Care & Support specialise in supporting?
At Candia Care & Support, we work with people of all ages and abilities and pride ourselves on being inclusive and flexible in the supports we provide. We specialise in supporting individuals with physical disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, psychosocial disabilities, dual diagnosis, and complex needs. We have a team with extensive experience in supporting people living with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and schizophrenia. Every person’s journey is different, and we’re here to walk alongside them, with out judgment through both the highs and lows of life.
How do you tailor your support services to meet the unique needs of each individual?
We believe that support should never be one size fits all. We tailor our services by taking the time to get to know each person; what brings them joy, what they find challenging, what goals they want to achieve, and how they want to live their life including their obvious care needs. We work closely with participants, their families, and support networks to create flexible, individualised support plans. We liaise with other health professionals and work collectively together to our own strengths to support the individual. We also continually adapt our services as people’s needs and goals evolve. We are their biggest advocates and believe in creating a world without barriers to a fulfilling life.
Do you provide support for families or caregivers of people with disabilities or mental health issues?
Absolutely! Families and caregivers are often the unsung heroes, and they need support too. We offer guidance, resources, and respite to help ease the pressures that can come with caring for a loved one. Whether it’s a listening ear, helping to navigate the NDIS, or providing practical day to day assistance, we’re here for the whole support network, not just the participant.
What is the process for someone interested in accessing your services?
The first step is simply reaching out. We welcome calls, emails, or even just a chat over coffee. From there, we take the time to understand what supports are needed and how we can help. We’ll walk individuals and families through every step of the process, from service agreements to matching with the right support workers. Whether someone is newly accessing the NDIS or looking to change providers, we make the transition as smooth and personal as possible. We’re here to make sure no one feels like they’re just a number.
Until next time, Jodie x
